Ernest Glazer, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Ernest Glazer, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Ernest Glazer, MSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years experience at the post-graduate level of Behavioral Health Sciences. He is considered to be "an inherently intuitive therapist, and a unique and dynamic speaker who never fails to hold the attention of his audience". He has written extensively about The Adoption Triangle, and issues that derive from the adoption process as it relates to adopted adolescents and adults, as well as the adoptive and birth parents.

Mr. Glazer began his career as a teenager, soon became the youngest person in Philadelphia to become elected to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of the Benjamin Rush Center; a community mental health center in Northeast Philadelphia. He is a graduate of Penn State University and received his Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a postgraduate certificate in marriage and family therapy.

As a clinical member and approved supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, he is permitted to teach as well as practice marriage and family therapy. He is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers and is a member of The Academy of Certified Social Workers. Currently, Mr. Glazer is the Executive Director of The Center for Family Development, a private practice therapy located in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. In addition, he is also a faculty member of the Allegheny University School of the Health Sciences, where he teaches in both the Family Therapy and Creative Arts Departments. He also guest lectures to psychiatric residents, psychologists, and other members of the Mental Health Sciences Department. He specializes on family issues with a Family Systems treatment approach to mental health, substance abuse, family and marital violence or discord, and especially families with adolescents.

During his years in practice, Mr. Glazer has given numerous workshops, presentations, and seminars. He has written a number of articles on therapy, marriage and family life, relationships, communication skills, and the healthy aspects of contemporary living. He is a regular contributor to local newspapers and magazines, and has been in demand for television and radio appearances. He presents his workshops and seminars to professional and lay audiences and is considered a unique and dynamic presenter. In the past he has collaborated with the late Darrel Sifford of the Philadelphia Inquirer to present The Fathers Forum--a highly successful daylong seminar directed at men's roles in the family, as well as differences in relating to sons, daughters, and spouses. He has also led Retreats for Men and Women, a weekend retreat for men or women only. This provides people the opportunity to share and connect with their own gender in a safe and supportive environment where people can be themselves without pretense. For many people, this is the first time in their lives where they can truly be honest with themselves and their feelings while receiving honest feedback.

Needs a conclusion...
